Here is a reference video I took of myself walking across the screen to use for creating a walk cycle. I've noticed that when I walk, there seems so be a slight spring in my step as my legs seem to bend slightly more than other peoples seem to. I also noticed the fact that one foot is ready to leave the floor before the other has even returned completely, this perhaps shows my eagerness to get to places as I don't particularly like strolling when I walk and have been told that my walk is quite fast, however I usually just think that everyone else's walks are slow and can not be bothered wasting time traveling from A to B when I could just be at B.
Another thing I noticed was how naturally my arms swing about, when creating the video, i didn't particularly notice my arms swinging much, as I don't normally notice this when walking about, however, looking back at the video, my arms are quite clearly seen to swinging quite heavily. By nature I am quite a fidgety person who can not just simply sit still for too long, and so I find it fitting that my arms don't keep very still whilst I'm walking.
Below are the four main positions in a walk:
In the extended position the front leg is extended as much as it will be from the back leg, with the biggest gap between the two feet.
During the low position, both feet are on the ground and so your head will be at the lowest point through the walk.
As one leg passes the other in the Passing Position, as you are stood up tall on one leg, as well as lifting the other leg up into the air, you are at your tallest position throughout the walk
The forward Position is when you start to bring your leg forward, with your overall body leaning the most at this point bringing your height down, ready to go into the extended position once again, and the cycle continues.
